Prudence and Scott have online dating to thank for their introduction. The couple met after swiping right on each other’s Tinder profiles in 2020 shortly before the world went into lockdown.

Ignoring all of her crime junkie instincts, Prudence trusted her gut and agreed to meet a strange man for a hike in the woods. Looking back, this would turn out to be the best decision she’s made so far.

After months of 4 hour drives to visit one another, Prudence had decided to jump the gun, trusting her gut once more, and move to Ottawa to be closer to Scott.

From that point on, Prudence and Scott were inseparable.

In January of 2024, Scott had strategically and secretly planned out the whole day.

In an effort to keep the plans a secret, Scott’s mom Tracey, had taken Prudence into town to “run some errands”. In the meantime, Scott and his dad Dave, were stringing together printed photos from their digital cameras between the trees.

After returning from their errands, everyone got ready for a winter fire. With snacks and mittens in hand, Prudence and Scott headed into the woods to the fire first. It wasn’t until Scott took her hands, turned her around and got down on one knee that she realized what was happening.

5 minutes later, with Prudence bawling and Scott still waiting for an answer, she said YES!

As one final surprise, Scott had arranged from Prudence’s mom to pull up the driveway moments after saying yes!
